🔧 How to Use Your SLICE Nipper: A Quick Guide
âś… Proper Grip & Control
-
Place your thumb on one handle. (Use your thumb and index finger to stabilize the grip and maintain precise control during each cut.)
-
Wrap your middle, ring, and pinky fingers around the other handle.
This grip style gives better balance and control, especially for delicate or repetitive work.
Applicable Materials
The SLICE Nipper is designed to cut:
-
Plastic sprues and runners (perfect for Gunpla and model kits)
-
Soft resin parts
-
Thin rods and wires
-
ABS, PS, and similar materials
⚠️ Avoid using on metal or overly thick materials to prevent chipping.
SwiftEdge Blade (BA-24):
- Plastics (PS, ABS, PP, PE, etc.): Φ3 mm or smaller
- Transparent or semi-transparent resins: Φ1.2 mm or smaller
âš Â Note: This blade is designed for exceptional sharpness. Improper use or twisting may result in blade breakage.
DuraBlade (BA-32):
- Suitable for all materials covered by the BA-24 blade
- Additional capabilities:
- Multi-strand copper wire: 14 AWG or smaller
- Single-strand copper wire: 22 AWG (diameter 0.6 mm) or smaller
- Copper pins on electronic components.
Replacing the Blade or Anvil
Each SLICE comes with interchangeable blades:
-
SwiftEdge for clean, ultra-fine cuts
-
DuraBlade for tougher material and longer life
Screw placement:
-
The blade side has one screw
-
The anvil side has two screws
To replace:
-
Use the included hex key to unscrew the blade or anvil
-
⚠️ The blade-side screw is reverse-threaded (turn clockwise to loosen)
-
The anvil-side screws are standard-threaded (turn counter-clockwise to loosen)
-
-
Gently remove and replace the part
-
Re-tighten securely without over-torquing
About the Included Washers
You’ll find two 0.1mm washers in your package. These are used for fine-tuning the height alignment between the blade and the anvil.
When to use them:
-
If you feel the blade and anvil don’t meet flush
-
If you experience a scissor-like misalignment during cuts (often when cutting thicker rods)
Installation:
-
Unscrew and remove the blade
-
Insert one washer between the blade and the aluminum base
-
Reattach the blade
-
⚠️ Reminder: The blade screw is reverse-threaded — turn clockwise to loosen, counter-clockwise to tighten
-
Test your cut. In most cases, 1 washer is sufficient to correct the alignment.
